Summer Swimwear: Kimmay on Today

May 29, 2026 | Style Solutions, Swimwear, Today | 0 comments

Hurray for Today! I’m back on The Today Show, this time answering some of your best swimsuit questions like:

  • What is the best bikini top for full busts? Does cute swimsuits for DD cups and up exist?
  • How can I protect my skin when in a swimsuit? Does UPF 50 swimwear really work?
  • What are the best swimsuits for pickleball or hiking?
  • What can I wear to both brunch and the beach? Does glam swimwear that shapes my silhouette really exist?

So, I got to work and collected a few of the best swimsuits and accessories to share with you on the show! With Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones, we walked through them one by one and had some fun. This segment and shopping list will have you ready for summer. But before we do that, here are two things to keep in mind:

1) The body you have today is worthy of support and adornment exactly as it is, so dress accordingly. Not for the body you had 10 years ago or the one 10 pounds less from now. Today.

2) Coverage is up to you! Skimpy tops and cheeky cuts are super cute and very in at the moment. And. You get to decide what you want to wear! That might mean a cover up, a little extra fabric on the bottom, an underwire supportive top, some silhouette shaping fabric… you do you.

Below, you’ll find the shopping links for the bras and undergarments I shared on Today, as well as additional options. Drop by your local boutique or shop online and test drive these styles for yourself. Each one has different features or advantages, and you get to decide how to support and adorn your unique and beautiful body. Hurray!

Psst! Some of the brands linked here might be past or future partners of mine, but were independently chosen for this segment without compensation or contract. I’m proud to bring them your way! There might also be an affiliate link for additional options below. As always, I share what I think will support you and help you say hurray.

Watch the recap video clip (once available) and shop the looks on the Today Show website!

Brunch to Beach

This look on Kerin is so glam! This is for the gal who is going to a chic brunch in Manhattan, then off to the Hamptons for the weekend. Or something similar 😉

It’s so easy to style this gorgeous one piece from Miracle Suit because it looks like an elegant bodysuit. The wrapping details are beautiful, the sheer cutouts offer subtle sass, and the sweetheart neckline offers just enough coverage.

Additionally, Miracle Suit is known for its supportive and silhouette shaping Maritex fabric for all over sleek look.

Add in this figure hugging skirt with a high slit on one side (with an adjustable cinch so you can decide how much to show!), a beachy clutch, sunglasses, hat, and some heels and you are ready to go! I know black isn’t usually a summer shade, but this look says summer sleek and I’m here for it.

Bust Support Bikini

If you want extra support from your swimsuit, I highly recommend wearing bra sized swimsuits. As a bra fitter and teacher for many years, I can tell you that swimsuits with bra engineering are a Godsend for so many people! Getting the right band support is so important, along with structure built by true bra experts.

Here, Grace is wearing an underwire, bra sized swim top from Elomi in 36F UK which is a US 36H AND Elomi has designs up to a US N cup!

I love the off the shoulder look here, with straps to prevent the risk of falling or lack of support. This ruffle is so darling! And the matching bottom has adjustable coverage so you can decide how much to show.

We added this sarong by Panache for fun and coverage preference, but Panache is also another great bra sized swimsuit company with excellent supportive options for small bands and full busts.

Key tip: Go to your local real bra fitting shop to get expert help finding the best style and size for your bra sized bathing suits – there are one pieces, bikinis, tankinis and more, and fit is key for feeling confident and comfortable! You can start with my Free Bra Fit Guide, which will come in handy for ordering or trying on bra sized swimsuits.

Sun Protection Swimwear

Fact: Skin cancer is the most common cancer in the U.S., with 1 in 5 Americans developing it by age 70 (source: The Skin Cancer Foundation). Stay protected and look great at the same time in this look!

Phyllis looks AMAZING in this dress from Line in the Sand, which can be worn in the water, or on the go! Wear it for a morning dip to sunset cruise and every activity in between. Cinch up the side ties to wear as a tunic. Let out the drawstrings for a longer length.

Wear the dress over the swim leggings for extra coverage, or slip on a brief. There’s no built in bra so it can be worn over your favorite swim top or tank top.

This suit is made from 100% regenerated nylon Carvico UPF fabric with 50+ SPF sun protection. The fabric is also quick-drying, high-performance, and made to last.  Add in a reversible SPF coated hat for extra coverage and safety in the sun.

Keep in mind that while standard summer clothing often provides a UPF of less than 10, UPF 50+ swimwear blocks over 98% of the sun’s radiation, functioning much better than sunscreen because it requires no reapplication. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

And a big bonus: 100% of Line in the Sand’s profits are donated to ocean and cancer organizations. Hurray!

Swim to Sport

Pickleball has grown so much that swimsuit companies have entire categories dedicated to it! Facts about Pickleball growth: (source)

  • Player Count: Approximately 24.3 million Americans play pickleball, reflecting a staggering 171.8% increase since 2022.
  • Average Age: The sport is no longer just for older generations. The average player’s age has dropped to 35, with the 25–34 age bracket serving as the largest segment of active participants.

In a suit like this one from Longitude, you can sweat it out on the court, then dip into the pool, hottube, or lake without having change. And doesn’t Kari look so adorable in it? I love the built in bottom and this had adjustable straps for a great fit.

And a note on these Recovery Flip Flops from Oka-B: they’re so squishy and cozy and meant to aid in foot Recovery. So if you’re exhausted from Pickleball (or working on TV all day, like me!) pop these on. I wore mine through Manhattan and on the train ride back to Philly. They are also 100% recyclable and made in the USA!

What I’m Wearing

Want to wear shop what I wore on the show? I went full swim mode in this gorgeous caftan from Wrap Up by VP (a gift from a 70’s themed editorial shoot I did years ago!), plus my favorite pink shoes. My earrings are from a Zara in Paris. While I don’t have the exact link, I found something similar. Enjoy!
