Kimmay on The Good Stuff: Bra Makeovers

May 24, 2024 | Bra Options, Hurray for Lingerie, Press, Style Solutions, The Good Stuff, Underneath | 0 comments

How do you know if your bra fits? How do you find your new bra size after losing weight? What are the best bras for bigger busts? We covered this and so much more when I dropped by The Good Stuff in Toronto! Host, Mary Berg, and I went through my best bra fit tips, then we saw them in action when I gave two amazing gals bra makeovers. I loved working on this special TV project, and can’t wait for you to see it and shop along with us.

Below is a link to the replay, plus the list of bras I shared on the show (including some bonus features I couldn’t get to on air). Remember: bras are worn right over the heart, so this is a really special place to practice self care and to say hurray inside, outside, and underneath. Hurray!

Psst! Some of the brands linked here might be past or future partners of mine, but were independently chosen for this segment without compensation or contract. I’m proud to bring them your way! There might also be an affiliate link below. As always, I share what I think will support you and help you say hurray.

In Canada? Check out the replay of the show (when it’s available) on The Good Stuff site. Note, you’ll need to be in Canada to watch, or have a VPN.

Natasha’s Bra Makeover

Natasha shared that she was in the middle of a weight release journey. So far, her weight has fluctuated and she’s lost about 45 pounds. This kind of body change sure does change your bra size! I’m so glad she reached out for help so that we could assess what size fits now, and not “wait for the weight” to change again. Her body (and yours) deserves some support now!

To support her, I chose Canada’s most popular t-shirt bra, the Virginia from Corin! Corin is a Polish brand (they’re known for their supportive bras!) and this style is known for its great fit, round shape, and springy, flexible 3D spacer molding in the cups. That flexibility works great with most busts, especially those that are fluctuating. Currently, her bra size went from 38DD to 36DD, which is a cup and band size smaller, (or even a 34DDD in some sizes).

Bonus: I wear this bra all the time! It’s a great basic and the subtle details make it luxe, too. And this red color can actually work for some folks as a neutral. Yep! Depending on your skin tone, red under white can blend into the skin and not show through white.

Corin – Virginia Spacer Bra

  • Underwire bra with light, flexible 3D spacer molding balcony style cups that work with your body and unique shape
  • The best selling t-shirt bra in Canada!
  • Fully adjustable straps for a customized fit
  • Fashionable embroidery along the top of the cup and straps
  • Hook and eye back closure
  • Several colors available including this gorgeous red which can act as a neutral for many folks under white!
  • Available in 30-44 bands, B-J Euro cups

In addition to a wonderful underwire bra, I also wanted to get Natasha a wire-free bra that she can wear for more casual occasions, provides shape, and can flex with her body as it changes. This Montelle bralette is great because of its adjustable band and strap (so customizable), super soft material, and multi-cup sizing. Natasha fit into the 34F/G here which is what I’d wear in this bra. It’s so cozy, I have to get my own!

Montelle – Mysa Bralette

  • Soft, smooth, wire-free bralette with multi-cup sizing
  • No-show bra is sleek under clothes with removable pads for optional modesty and shape
  • Semi adjustable straps and adjustable hook and eye back
  • Dreamy U-back shape melts onto the skin
  • Available in 30-40 Bands and Euro B/C – D/E – F/G cups
  • Soon to be offered in 28 bands in June 2024!

Mimi’s Bra Makeover

Mimi and I actually met on Instagram! She’s a talented and passionate artist who makes beautiful casts of chests and breasts (for real!). Her devotion to the topic was what drew us together. She has a drawer filled with bras – some that fit and some that don’t – and I was so glad to help her find new options and a wonderful new style.

To support her, I chose the Panache Allure bra in a UK 32H (which is a 32K in the US!). As a bra fitter, there are those moments when you get a good fit, and then when you get a great fit,  when the bra and person’s body match up so beautifully. I screamed when I saw this bra on Mimi! The fit is that good. Maybe it is a great match for you, too!

Bonus: I am actually wearing the same bra in UK 34E on the show! I was tempted to give Canada a flash but we had more important things to discuss on camera. Consider yourself in on my little secret.

Panache – Allure Full Cup Bra

  • Underwire and seamed cups for supreme lift
  • Made from soft, recycled sheer black lace
  • Inner side sling for shape and support
  • Sheer, flexible lace at the top of the cup for a flush fit, and contrasting Latte colored lining the sheer lace on the bottom of the cups for extra strength
  • Power mesh wings hug onto the body for a secure and flexible fit
  • Fully adjustable straps for a custom fit
  • Available in 30-40 bands, D-J UK cups

In addition to the supportive seams and gorgeous lace of the first bra, I also fit Mimi into a smooth t-shirt bra from Elomi. This is one of my favorite smooth cup options for a fuller bust and and curvy figure. It lifts and supports with a flexible 3D spacer material for a clean look. See if it’s a match for you below.

Elomi – Charley Molded Spacer

  • Smooth, breathable and flexible cup looks sleek under a t-shirt with no seams
  • Fully adjustable straps with picot trim so sliders stay in place
  • Bandless front cradle is great for shorter torsos or tummies
  • Concealed side-support panels keep the bust frontward
  • Available in several colors including a few neutrals and fun shades
